In 2003 after I finished high school and before I went to uni I went to several countries for a period of service and volunteering. One of the places I went to was Sicily - it was literally one of the most amazing and unforgettable times of my life - if I ever win the lotto I’m packing a plane full of friends and taking them to Sicily from July to October.
Hardly ANYONE on this island spoke English, and so I learnt to speak Italian VERY FAST (with a Sicilian twinge of course ;) but what I remember a lot of was the music I listened to whilst I was there.
This is one of the songs that was big whilst I was there and I love the lyrics (in Italian of course), but what is super sweet and endearing is that the chorus basically says:
tu sei bellissima
forse un po troppo per me
se avessi solo un attimo
cose che ti direi
and which basically means:
You are beautiful
Maybe too much for me
If i only had a moment
Things I would tell you ( I think it means “If I had more time, I would tell you so much things”)
